AIDS Walk Fund Disbursement

AIDS Walk funding was set up to help those with HIV/AIDS in emergency situations or to help provide the basic necessities when there is nowhere else to turn for help. To ensure that there is funding available for everyone, the following guidelines have been established.

  1. Funding is available only to those residing in South Dakota.
  2. No individual may be granted more than $300.00 per calendar year. (Calendar year runs September 1 through August 31.)
  3. No cash payments will be made. All payments will be made by gift card when possible. When checks are used, they will be written out to the company owed the funds. (For example: for assistance with a phone bill, the check will be written out to the phone company.)
  4. Funds will not be given for rent, payments on automobiles, taxes of any kind or license plates.
  5. Funds may be used for educational purposes providing the seminars/classes relate to issues covered by The Center. All recipients of educational funding will be required to share the information learned from the class/seminar with the group or with others in the community.
  6. The Center reserves the right to deny any request for funding or to delay a decision on funding if The Center wishes to take the matter before the Board of Directors.
