"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results." - Andrew Carnegie |

what is a team?
A walk team is a group of two or more people officially registered and led by a Team Leader. Teams come from all sectors of the community:
As a Team Leader, you have the opportunity to spread excitement about this amazing community event to people throughout South Dakota. Ask friends, family members and co-workers to join you, and encourage them to ask others to join as well. Before you know it, your team will grow into a dozen people asking dozens more to walk. Think big. Your team could easily have 20, 50, maybe even 100 walkers. Be proud of the knowledge and awareness of HIV you are sharing with your community. Statistics show that event participants who are on a team raise more money for the AIDS Walk than those without that support structure. Think of the last time you were on a team, be it college football or your community softball team. Teamwork creates success. You were there to support others when they needed it; and in turn they gave you advice, encouraged you and cheered you on. Being on a Team also solidifies your commitment to participation. Fundraising and walking become much easier and more enjoyable with a team to support you. |
